Selling my K-1 as it ended up being a lot more than I needed. All the lenses will be listed separately as well. Well-loved camera. No dents or scratches to speak of. 26,317 on the shutter count, although a lot of that was time-lapse. Have boxes for both if you want them.

Pentax K-3 - $525 OBO - $22.50 shipping with insurance

No damage, scratches, never been dropped. Was part of the 18-135mm kit but lens is not included. Add $5 to shipping if you want the box, but all cables and documents included. Extended warranty is in effect on the camera (and the kit lens if you happen to have the same one ;)) until 02/03/2019. Will need your information to transfer warranty.
Pentax HD 55-300mm WR - $200 OBO - $10 shipping with insurance
No damage, no fungus. Selling just because it vignettes somewhat on FF. Comes with the case, both caps, and hood. Sold.
Ships cheaper if you buy both and more likely to get a better price. :) Probably going to buy a Pentax 24-70mm f2.8 or 28-105mm if you were looking to get rid of one of those.

Really appreciative of the increased sensor size. This shot would be impossible with this lens on my K-3 due to the room setup.

It vignettes a little, but all very even and correctable. I don't even worry about it. Here are some quick shots of a wall at 1.8, 2.8, 3.5, and 4.5.

Ok, I meant from you feeling the button click so I guess it's the same for me. Not the biggest deal, but I thought it was a downside.

It would also be something you could feel. Even in total silence I can't currently tell at what point the button takes a picture.
Can you actually tell when you take a picture though? Sometimes for me I just want to Focus and I accidentally take a picture, something that never happened on the K-3

My K-3 has a very digital shutter button, giving a click when I press it all the way down as opposed to just auto-focusing.
My K-1 doesn't really have that, giving me little to no feedback when the auto-focus ends and the shutter press begins. Kinda mushy button.
Doesn't bother me too much and I already got used to it, but wanted to know if this was normal.

Video seems about the same as the K-3 which is to say a bit soft. The extra versatility in having both APS-C and FF video is nice though, and I think the video AF is faster but I would actually need to test that.
A slight disappointment is the FF video doesn't use the whole sensor. Image attached from a video I did on Youtube. Note the red dots on the corners of the video image.

I've thought about it, but I've had a hard time justifying the upgrade since I have a 28-75. And yeah the 150-450 would be perfect, but $2K is more than my wife would let me spend :D
Thought about this too. I'm sure it would be a bit sharper than the 70-200mm and is the cheapest WR lens, but probably wouldn't get as much use since it isn't any faster and less versatile.
Seems like I am asking for too much for under $1k :) That, and I've already covered the major bases. Might have to see what the total cost difference is between the 28-105 and the 24-70 after selling the 28-75 and 55-300...

Hi everyone,
Just got the K-1 to supplement/replace my K-3 and am looking to add a lens.
I have:
Pentax 50mm f/1.8
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8
Pentax 55-300mm f/4-5.8
I had the 55-300mm for the reach and the WR but it vignettes pretty heavily on the K-1, especially up close and in the middle of the focal length.
Anyone have good suggestions what to replace it with? Ideally WR so I have one at least, but I want to avoid having a lens would only use for the WR like the new 28-105mm since the image quality wouldn't be much better if at all then what I already have. I've considered the 50-500mm Sigma since it would give me roughly the same reach as 330mm on the K-3, but that's on the upper limit of what I want to spend. Under $1000. I normally shoot portraits, but I don't mind adding some versatility to my bag.

Cameta Cameras is now sold out. Sales guy was super impressed :) I had a preorder at Kenmore Cameras in Washington that I had to cancel since Cameta is already shipping and they just called me to say it's in store. Multiple stores told me they do for Canon and Nikon. Only Pentax doesn't provide tracking info to them so it magically shows up. Cameta Camera has them in stock if you call them and they correctly estimated they would get some today last week on their website, but the sales people didn't have any idea they were getting some.

So Cameta Camera just called me and said their order came in and nobody else had a preorder with them. Last week they said they were getting in at least 5 so they should have 4 left, but he wasn't able to confirm since they weren't done unpacking. Could be a lot more. Ships later today or tomorrow.
The website doesn't have them off preorder yet so you need to call the store directly. I told the sales guy Steve I would plug him so here it is: 1-631-389-2165. That number calls the camera department.
Sales tax only for NY. And.... go! :) I was just glad I got one since I have a wedding this weekend.

I called Amazon and they said their expected ship date is 5/2-5/17. :-/ We'll see how that goes... They did refund my 1-day shipping at least.

I called Adorama about my order today and they said the 5/15 date is correct for them. Contacted Amazon and they holding to the 4/25 date. Looks like I will have to cancel my Adorama order as I'd like to have the K-1 for a wedding I am attending 5/7.
