As an FYI (and mostly to prevent newbies from accidentally mass-uploading to the PEG), there is now a 2-photo daily limit on exclusive gallery submissions. So, if you have more photos you'd like to submit, upload your top two first, then wait until the next day to upload the remainder. Our judges are very quick these days so chances are that you'll get a decision by the next day anyway :)

The post-processing is up to you, but be careful about over-processing! You should expect 20-30 comments.

FYI the minimum resolution requirement has been upped to 1024x700, as all PEG thumbnails will now be made much larger to make each photo more appealing.

We are now rejecting all photos that do not contain the camera information as part of the EXIF data. You will need to add this information to the photo itself using an EXIF editor if you want your photo to be considered for the PEG. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we've had to make this a strict requirement in order to streamline the approval process.
Then your photo is unfortunately not eligible for the PEG. You're welcome to upload it anywhere else in the gallery, though!

I'm happy to announce that changes have been made to the PEG voting process so that voting will be much more fair to here on out. More great photos will start being accepted unless we already have a lot of similar photos in the gallery.

I don't think so, because that would let people submit photos without approval. But you can always delete a photo and re-upload it.

Right click on the photo and select properties and you'll see the image dimensions. This also works for images on the web.

FYI, PEG judges will now be able to see the text you put in the "description" field when voting for your photo, so we now encourage you to include any information you think may be relevant in this field, such as the goal of your photograph or meaning of a particular effect.

I can tell you that it's really close to being approved, but it hasn't gotten enough votes yet. Once I remove judges that have been inactive, your photo should go through :)

That particular sidebar module uses photos from album system half the time and the premier gallery categories (see the gallery for those) the other half.

Is the photo in question "Aurora Borealis"?
As far as I can see, it's still in the "Night Scene" category. I can move it for you if you'd like, and then I'll be able to verify if it's in the approval system. Maybe I missed it, but I never saw it earlier.

I checked your photo and it looked like it was below minimum dimensions- but you should have gotten a notification via e-mail about this.

Yup, that information is hidden (unless the watermark gives it away!). The only visible info is the picture title and the full version of the image.

The photos were actually never accepted. After a few technical changes, there was a bug that made all submissions by *cough* judges go through without first being approved. I didn't realize this until today, so I pulled all the affected photos manually and forced them into the approval process. The bug has been patched since then- sorry for the confusion!
