The new layout is much more logical (and prettier) and focused on content-oriented links rather than a mixture of forum links and content links. Now you can access ALL site sections from the navbar!
The contents from the quick links menu have been moved under the 'forum' tab; those that were search-related are now under the 'search' tab.
As far as I can see, there won't be any more changes to the UI as we've now reached perfection :D I know that for some people, it'll take a little getting used-to, but if people bothered reading the announcements about the changes, then the new locations would be crystal-clear.
Again, as a reminder, this thread is going off topic; please start a new thread for suggestions unrelated to the forum tools menu.

With the introduction of the new layout, the quicklinks menu will become much more redundant and less useful.
I'll consider making it bold, but all people really use that menu for is finding new posts, which can be done from the search dropdown.
The reason I took it out of the navbar was so that I could make room for the marketplace and cameras buttons. As the site grows, I will be working hard to be brining you content in addition to just discussions, photos, and reviews.

Oh noes! The modern skin has gotten a fresh header and the default skin has changed to red :D
There are THREE new posts links on each forum page: one in the search dropdown, one in the quicklinks menu, and one by the login area.
To switch back to green, use the quick style chooser at the bottom of the page, and also select it permanently in your usercp options.
The quicklinks menu is now by the login area, and the new posts link is also there.

That parameter is only added if your browser has javascript disabled, or if the dropdown script is somehow being blocked. Try fixing that on your end, then try again.
Also, which skin are you currently using?
