Thank you both kindly. Maybe lower resolution means lower royalties - or perhaps nothing stacks up against the DA*300 ;)

The RAF are retiring the Tornado in March after 40 years of service, and are doing a final "lap of honour" to mark the occasion. I popped out to a field near Duxford with a work colleague and the trusty K-1 and DA* 300/4. 1 minute 12s of excitement... IMGP5245+pp by h4yn0nnym0u5e, on Flickr

Small Copper IMGP2222 by h4yn0nnym0u5e, on Flickr
This is part of a 14-image series of butterfly photos taken between 2018-07-06 and 2018-08-02. All were with the K-1 and DA*300; 9 of them were taken within the space of an hour, in an area about 240x80m, and are of 8 different species, with a couple more species being taken in the same area during the next few weeks. The rest were at various times and places in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Surrey.
Rather than spam a single thread with all 14 images, I thought it would be fun to post them in different threads and provide a link from one to the next. Follow the links to threads you might otherwise never have looked at! Onwards!
(Actually, I ran out of relevant threads, so a couple have two posts in. Sorry. :o)

Thank you all for your kind words! Forgot to say that I also used magnified Live View and manual focus. I should also have taken a test shot with AF, but didn't think to. I'm fairly sure that wouldn't have been a keeper...
Wouldn't say I'm particularly skilled, compared to many here. But it's nice to share the results when I do get lucky!
Cheers

Spotted this Painted Lady warming itself in the early-morning sun, perched in a tree about 5m from the bedroom window. Out came the K-1 + DA*300, plus Moman mini tripod and IR remote...
Here's the SOOC jpeg:
And here's the crop, after a bit of colour adjustment and sharpening in RawTherapee. What a lens! Flickr |

BBIF? Actually, the same bee twice... K-1 + DA*300, ISO 1600, 1/1250 @ f/8, continuous shooting H.
JPEGs SOOC, top bee cloned in from the second shot with a bit of re-alignment, and cropped to 3200x4800. Flickr |

Thanks - you're too kind. I was quite happy with that one myself...
Doh! You're quite correct of course, brain fart on my part. Fixed in the original post...
Thanks

Some aircraft shots, for when you've had enough of birds and nature... All from Dunsfold, August 2014, using SMC Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED on a K-r.
