Have heart, my shipment (destination Qatar) finally made it to Dubai (an hour away) and is now being sent back to BH, because Qatar Air does not allow Lithium batteries to be shipped by Air... I have NO idea when I will see my K1. :fedup:

At least mine has not shown an update since 4:32pm on Friday.... thats a lot of refresh clicks with no change. Then I have international customs and duty delay to contend with... you should be fine once they are back from the weekend :-)

I have hit refresh on the Fed-ex tracking page 43.348 million times.... and its still shows left Memphis 28 hours ago... so I feel your pain :)

I grew tired of Canon dragging its feet (11 year Canon user here) and being a primarily Landscape shooter, my choices were the A7r2, the D810 or the K1. I went with the K1 because it made sense to me. I think it will prove to be a D810 killer in several (but not all) areas especially for scapes. I also waited for a high res Foveon sensor by one of the big 3, which never came... The K1's color detail is stunning. Bayer's mush up color detail , and what I saw with the super res on the K1, blew me away. Add to that, exceptional DR and Hi-iso performance compared to, what to me was the benchmark landscape body (D810) at almost half the price, was an easy choice. The Astrotracker was icing on the cake.
The K1 RAW files have excellent latitude, me and a fellow photeg (D800 owner) said the K1 files looked cleaner than his D800 file at base and at high iso. For me coming from a 5d3, they were an eye opener...
Nikon and Canon are playing a hostage game of releasing crippled products because many of us are invested in glass. (Nikon is a bit better than Canon in this regard, but with Sony not playing nice with them, who knows where they will be in a few years).
For me, the K1 may not blow Nikon or Canon in every conceivable shooting scenario, but in the one that's important to me, the K1 + 15-30 looks like a much better value than the 5dsr + 11-24, or the D810 + 14-24. And the way, they go out to give the customer tools that Nikon/Canon hold back, this system looks very promising to invest for me...

My Order will ship out today it seems... this is why they did not have tracking info before.
Just got off the chat with BH, here is the transcript:
Me : Hi Koby

Koby W : Hi

Me : Can you first please tell me the status of my order...

Me : I want to make sure that adding this part does not delay the current order
Koby W : This will ship out today either way
Me : ok then please add 2x of these
Me : Can u give me an ETA on this order?
Koby W : FedEx International Priority 3-5 Business Day Delivery
Koby W : Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Me : So its going out today?

Me : When can I have a tracking number?

I think you should be ok. I was a 3/9 and mine got sent to the warehouse, whatever that means. Did you go and check your order and the K1 item specific status? BH did not send an email, I just saw the status change and charging of my CC.

Same here!!! I am getting all hyper before my morning cup... :D
No tracking number yet... I am fine with them not passing that info through as long as all their efforts went into packing and shipping out the door. I just hope I don't get a verification department stoppage since they are shipping international and not to my home address....:eek:

I had a voice mail from Ricoh last night (about 3:45pm EST) and she said the K1's have just left Denver Colorado. I am assuming a 1 day travel time, then processing at BH. Perhaps BH's warehouse's are updated by the shipper which changes the status to in-stock (The reality is, its in transit, not in stock), this would explain the tracking number being N/A.
A day late... but still on the way :)

I hope Danny R was going off last month's cached inventory report... I am peeved that he said that no second shipment is coming soon. I thought they had one in April and one early May. Till this guy said otherwise, all other CSR's said they will get a shipment on May 4th... where did "that" shipment go?
In either case, you should have received a shipment notification since you were probably one of the first ones to get in....
Its just getting more frustrating as the date closes in. I have been postponing a trip, by fellow photo groupies are just as peeved with me, and BH can't cant a delivery date from Ricoh ... :fedup:

I just got off the chat with Danny R at BH ... he says there is no information on the next shipment by Pentax. I said what about May 4th or 5th, he said they got a shipment earlier but they were all prior orders, and he has NO information on the next shipment from Pentax... This is a real bummer....

Interesting discussion.... I don't work in procurement, but I thought a Sales order (like a purchase order) constitutes a legal binding contract, as soon as they accept the order. The owe me a K1 and as a consideration, I owe then $1799. They have a claim of ownership on my $1799 and I have a claim of ownership on one of their K1 (Pending delays due to stock and Passover and other holidays...) as You can tell, I am no lawyer either... I just watched 'suits' last month :o

I ordered from them March 9th. Chatted with 3 different CSR's and all 3 said, my order should ship beginning of May. When pressed about what it meant, 2 said, 1st week of May.
So you could be fine being a week ahead of me.
Edit: Got a backorder status email notification from BH last night, (that's during Passover)... either you have operations or you don't. Not sure how they operate... if a delivery comes, do they receive or reject?
