The same thing happened with the above case for the A Series cameras. A local camera store had an attic sale (staff found NOS accessories in an attic) and I bough six of these cases.

I sold some and kept the ones I needed for my Super A & Super Program. After taking the cases out of the plastic bags they were nice and shinny NOS, but after about a year seeing normal use the fake leather started to go to the "dark side" and loose its shine & crack. The cases still serve their function but they now look 40 years old instead of new.

Yes I believe so, the K Series was like that as well. You could get all sorts of the camera case top for various lens lengths. I have a long case top for my KX, it fits over the original bottom part.

Here's a photo of the A Series case.

Check the back of the camera manual.

There is usually a section indicating the accessories for the camera. It'll tell you the case number (if any) for the camera.

The FA43/1.9 has the prefect FOV for a film camera, so yep I'd look for one for your Program Plus.

After years of searching I finally found the OEM CF-10 case for my MZ-S. The case came in three sizes, S/M/L. The bigger the case size the bigger the lens you can enclose in the case.

Mine is a medium and holds the FA43/1.9 nicely. Pentax switched the case material from fake leather used in the Z/PZ Series, to the same nylon material used in the Pentax soft lens cases for F/FA lenses.

This case lets me put my MZ-S & FA43/1.9 (or similar sized lens) in an un-padded backpack, without worrying about getting the camera/lens knocked around.

Coincidence considering all the cameras & lenses that I have, I was out shooting with my *ist & FA*24/2 (No grip though) just a couple days ago...

Nice combo!

Yep +1.

I always shoot with the camera strap around my neck. I have a strap for every camera I own, including my 6x7's.

Looks good, I use a Gossen meter for a lot of my 6x7 work.

I recently got one as well and I do like it, mostly use it with aperture priority cameras & hyper-focal focusing.

Would not surprise me with the ME's, same thing happened with the latter K1000's. More plastics started showing up in the non MIJ versions and they just felt/looked cheaper.

Your H1A & meter reminds of the 6x7 & TTL meter setup, looks like Pentax "borrowed" the 6x7 design from the 35mm cameras.

Class of 1976!

Picked up a nice ME from a local PF member, so decided to do a group photo of the four Pentax cameras released 40 years ago along with a couple disco albums from that same year.

Thanks Arnold, this is my only MX so it will be hard not to use it at some point.

Yeah I usually buy exc+ to mint and then use all my gear and keep it looking like the condition I bought it in. The MX still has the factory plastic shutter curtain protector in place, so it will be a tough decision. For once the pictures/seller were not exaggerating when they said it looked like it was never used.

Here are my four post K Series MF "Pentax Black Beauties" !

The Super A has just come back from visiting Eric and the LX & P50 are refueling for their trip to TN. The MX is grounded as it's never flown, so I think I'll leave it that way.
