First of all when we buy a lens it depends from what we like to shoot, DA21 is a very good small lens for street photography, landscapes, cityscapes, even for portraits (environment portraits).
If you like these kinds of photography then take it (find a good used one), also this lens needs a good pair of shoes:), i mean it's not necessary to have a zoom all the time, just walk o lot and find your subject, if necessary get close to it, make your frame and shoot, so simple....
I have a used one which i found it in a good price and condition, i have shoot thousands photos with it with no problem, but as i said it depends of what you like to shoot.
