Well, seems there are few options up to $200 price point that's fairly good stepped down. Just a matter of picking one (and having some luck fishing on ebay :)) I'd need an opposite of a fisheye though for interiors.

I've read this review:
Samyang 20mm f/1.8 ED AS UMC Review

Seems like a good lens overall, with few drawbacks (which is understandable).

Had a quick look at all of the lenses you've suggested. The FAJ 17-28 is not much cheaper than the Tokina 19-35 that I found, so I'm wondering what would be a better choice.

Couldn't find 20-35 for sale on ebay right now, but it looks very good from images on the review page.

Don't want to spend too much on this right now, I'd rather save up a bit and get 15-30 sometime next year)

I've read through those reviews, but last one was from 2014, so no one tried it with k-1 yet i guess.

Doubt I can fit the Zeiss in my budget right now, not after purchasing k-1 and two new lenses (albeit good valued lenses, not the premium ones).

No one used the tokina 19-35? Would really like someone's opinion on it comboed with k-1. If it's a good combo I'd grab that for my landscape and interior stuff)

Looks like an awesome lens, user reviews are very positive across the board. I'll consider it, but maybe at this price point I can look at something more flexible. Also, I just got a new tamron 70-200 lens, wife will not be happy if I buy another lens in that price range :)

Do you mean the 19-35 is not worth it, or the 20-35 2.8? As I said, I won't be using this lens wide open much, I need it for one particular shoot (interior for our small business), and for general landscape work (not astro, I'd probably get a separate lens for that later on)

Also I hear they were not very popular before, and only picked up popularity in digital era?

So far I found a tokina 19-35 3.5-4.5 in great condition for 138$ and a Tokina 20-35 2.8 for around 370$. Wondering if the faster aperture is worth the extra $200+.

I found a Tokina 19-35 3.5-4.5 for what seems to be a reasonable price (130$) - is it a good choice for interiors/landscapes/real estate? I probably won't use it lower than f8-16 for those purposes. Anyone has any sample images?

I'll probably get myself a faster prime for astro later on - either Irix or SY14.

lol why the production was so limited? 100 copies, sounds like a collectors wet dream)

---------- Post added 10-19-16 at 07:54 AM ----------

Slow aperture doesn't bother me too much, will be using f8-16 most of the time anyway. Is distortion easy to fix? That's one thing that kind of puts me off the SY14 2.8, as I want to do some interior & real estate stuff, and that mustache distortion might be a paint to deal with in post.

Interesting option, not sure how rare it is, but price marked in the review section is very attractive.

Oh it's a ff lens? I assumed it was an apsc design. I'll definitely look at it, 12mm sounds amazing for an ff sensor, widest I've ever tried was 16mm equivalent on my previous body.

It's definitely interesting theoretically :) but practically I'd probably go with something cheaper for now. But again, I do just want to learn what the options are, so thanks for bringing it up!

So apart from obvious D FA 15-30 f2.8 and Samyang 14 f2.8, as well as the new Irix 15 f2.4, Laowa 12 f2.8 and 15 f4 macro, what else is there for ff pentax mount? I've recently just saw someone mentioning Tokina 20-35 2.8 (and the slower variable aperture one too) which I didn't know existed, and sounds like an awesome lens that is hard to find. Also seen Tamron 17-35 f2.8-4 suggested, another lens that is hard to find. I found Tokina 17 3.5 in third party reviews, looks like a nice enough lens but another "hard to find" one) Oh, and the new Samyang 20 f1.8.

I know that's plenty of choice really, and I'm starting this purely to educate myself of lenses I might've missed or didn't know existed (I was shooting mirrorless before, so a lot of glass that a dslr shooter might know I'd probably miss).

Share your knowledge)

Just found another one - Tokina 19-35 3.5-4.5 - Vivitar Series 1 19-35mm F3.5-4.5 Lens Reviews - Vivitar Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database
Seems like a nice lens, has anyone tried it?
