Probably the latter. But, wouldn't using in a filter (for the 15mm 2.4) prevent moisture as well? Then even the cheaper lens becomes somewhat weather resistant.

I think both versions have gaskets to prevent moisture but the Blackstone also has front element sealed, while firefly doesn't.
