I bought the lens not only because of its possibilities at 1.2, but also because of its descent performance at 2.8 and beyond, and it's relatively compact packaging considering its speed.

I still have to practice on getting the shot at 1.2, but the stopped down performance is on par with my FA43 and the Lomo Volna 50/1.8.

Just saw a Rikenon 55/1.2 selling for 1170 CNY (around 200 USD), but in pretty bad cosmetic shape and the seller reports markings on the coatings.

A little regret that I bought the Porst at 1750 CNY (around 300 USD), but on the bright side, it's in VG condition and there is no damaging on the coatings as I can see, and it's smaller and lighter.

The price of these two lenses here are much lower than the prices on eBay. I guess it is not only because of the currency exchange rate, but also to their bad reputations on certain forums. They are regarded as "garbage" for not been sharp at 1.2, and for been made by Cosina, not Tomioka. In fact, even the Pentax-A 50/1.2 is regarded as only "usable" wide open, and even this lens has been uber-expensive here.

Could you please remind me the "normal" focal length for the DA-645 format? I think 90 should be the normal for FA-645 if I remember correctly.

Did you ever notice purple fringing that is hard to remove by software with your copy of the Porst?

Realized that the JPEG shots were very mushy on a computer, so I PPed them.

Having a Lens Turbo behind a 1.2 definitely challenges my camera's highlight headroom.

I currently have two adaptall lenses with me in China, and they both behave the same: TAv, Tv, and P functions correctly, the lens is stopped down correctly, and the body-set F stop is shown on the rear LCD. However the viewfinder HUD only shows F--. Open-aperture metering tends to overexpse the image.

Using the Ka mount adapter. I noticed that the rear LCD is showing the body-set aperture in M mode, but the HUD in the viewfinder is not (showing F--). Any ideas?

Also noticed that the built-in meter tends to overexpose by 1.5 - 2 stops.

All at f5.6. The corners seem to be pretty bad. Does my copy need a service?

My problem is that because I am planning on going FF, I will need a below-20 WA lens, and I have chosen a 151B because I saw one, but do I still have to keep the DA15?

A detour: I have finally decided to get the Tamron Adaptall-2 17mm (with OEM hood), and another KA adapter. Is this a good combo to replace my DA15? I bought this because I have plans to ditch my NEX-6 and two Lens Turbos for a used Sony a7r.

Ironically, I feel more at home on this Mitakon then on my FA35. Even back-button focusing + AF-S center point only can't give me the same level of confidence that MF gives me.

An experimental locomotive is conducting road tests near my town, but only recently the sun shines long enough for it to arrive (if on time). It was around 7:20 PM (the sun sets at 7:30 PM) and the light was pretty dim so instead of my usual K-S2, I got out my quasi-full-frame "K-mount" Sony NEX-6 + Mitakon Lens Turbo II combo.

That roll was about to expire, so I decided to use it. Scanned by a photo lab in my country using a Flextight X5.

So I was a bit tired of using some of my lenses on a crop body, and I got out my NEX-6 and Mitakon Lens Turbo II for a poor man's full-frame.

FA35 on poor man's full-frame mirrorless

FA43 Limited

That been said, the FA35 is a comfortable lens to use on my K-S2.

There are quite a few sellers on eBay who don't really know what their gear worth...

I once bought a Tamron Adaptall-2 52BB with case for 80 bucks, and surprise, it came with a KA mount ring!

Another day with my Sigma Fisheye 15mm f2.8. Still Fisheye-Hemi corrected. Love the unique look.

But I just don't get why Sigma designed a "lens cap adapter" instead of a dedicated cap that fits tightly. I ended up cleaning up the lens body with alcohol (and wiping out the engravings in the meantime) and bought Sigma Cap Adapter for Sigma 8-16mm & 15mm f/2.8 CA475-72 B&H and Sigma LCF-72 III 72mm Lens Cap LCF-72 III B&H Photo Video for that copy.

My Sigma Fisheye 15mm f2.8 from @jimr-pdx had been gathering dust for some time. Corrected with Fisheye-Hemi plugin in Photoshop Elements 12, raw conversion done using Adobe DNG Converter via MetaRaw (as the ACR plugin in PSE 12 does not have native K-S2 support).
