The moon has been busy visiting planets lately. Turns out it also visited Jupiter back in August.

Nice!
That describes most nights I go out. :P move the mount, move the scope, plug everything in, go back in and start the software...go back out and hookup the network, go back in take a test shot, go back out and unlock the focuser(gah!) It's not so bad in the months I put things together out front 20ft away for northern targets, but in the winter it means 14 stairs and changing from slippers to boots each go.
Great job getting the ring to show up!

@UncleVanya: Howdy! I think he's using telescope numbers. 66mm aperture at 400mm focal length (f6) and the ED coating handles color better than standard achromat refractors. I'd like more info too as I'm possibly shopping for an ed or apo in the next year.
That's a lovely eclipse shot. Mine were in high winds and a bit of a mess. I'm still playing with them though. Because of the high winds I used a short and light(and old) 100mm f6 (600mm) Orion scope and my k5. On the big ole EQ6-R mount to anchor things.
Here's my timelapse of the event. The shadows are mostly smoke from the fire that was required due to the negative wind chill that night. It was a great show though! After replacing my beleaguered k-50 for xmas, I'm still learning the k5's quirks as an astrophotography camera so there are obvious errors here. I lost much of the the second half after the camera refused to respond to the remote(indoors) system upon return to internal exposure timing.
Maybe I'll find a good one to put in this lunatic thread. :D Lunar eclipse fun
cheers!
