For some time now I have had a hankering for D FA 24-70 f2.8 and kept putting it off.
Today I found an excellent (sic) used example at a reputable retailer and a good price so I finally succumbed to my desire.
I'm looking forward to receiving the beast.

Yeah, that gets me going too. Some times the headline is MINT, hoping you won't read the small print.
I have seen some weird descriptions on MPB as well, hoping to disguise a generic separation problem with a lens where they say 'The internal optics have a small amount of moisture, but this doesn't affect functionality'. What is moisture? I have never seen such a description before.
Got to be wary everywhere except with the top local retailers.

I think you will love the lens, it really is a versatile solution, and 135mm is just great with close focus.
I had given up film until Harman made this Phoenix stuff and now I have two rolls that I will use sparingly.
The trouble this brings is that when I go out I have to decide film or digital. If I take both I come back with digital copies of scene as well as film copies and that is boring.

Agreed, I have been after one for ages and they don't come up often, in fact I've not seen one before on this side of the pond.
I've also ordered a Hoya HD CPL from MPB for a decent price and I do feel lucky.

I am really pleased to have snagged a Tokina AT-X Pro 20-35 f2.8 from a member on the PF market place.
I saw it within 10 minutes of it being posted and jumped on it.
Now I just have to wait a while for it to arrive, quite excited about it and already eyeing up a CPL.

Now that is a beast, 5.3Kg + camera + heavyweight tripod. Your mule has it's work cut out.

A new to me K-50. I bought it cheap with ABF and have now fixed it.
Next up is a sensor clean and I may a swap casing over, but it working and going to keep my 18-135 company.
My old K-50 has SR run on issues so it is not reliable anymore, and retired for spares.

Only a slight twist of the arm is needed, I'm soft like that:).
I have bought a black D FA* 50mm f1.4 off LennyBloke on another forum, and I am away this weekend so I won't get to play properly until next week end, I can't wait!

Very nice, it looks right at home on your K-3 and I'm pleased for you. Would you not try and adapt it to your Sony body?
Anyway, I have made an acquisition too but more on that another day.

Thanks, It's a lovely little thing and I'm just getting around the menus now. I really like the field of view and snap focus is grand. Lot to like :).

I now have a used FA 35 f2 on the way. I have wanted one of these for a while but the new and used prices have been too high to contemplate. Can't wait, I think this is going to see much use.

Today I acquired a Hoya 135mm f2.8 HMC lens for the princely sum of £9.50, and naturally informed the CoE, just to reinforce the message that all big heavy fast-ish lens cost peanuts:)
