For me it's a mix of these four:
1. Print: I like to imagine that when I retire, I'll dig through the tens of thousands of images I have, pick some of the very best and print them. I might even cover the walls and ceilings of some of our rooms with images.
2. Long-term Screen: More realistically, most will become long-term screen images -- decades from now there will be giant wall-covering displays and I'll need every pixel the K-1 puts out not to have it look soft.
3. Other People's Screens: For more social events, selected images end up on other people's screens vis social media or email.
4. Just To See If It's Possible: Some pictures are just experiments to see how lenses (old & new) or camera features behave such as playing with interval-composite-Bright as a mass swim race start.
I do shoot for all four "media" and it affects the care I take in getting the image, the lenses I use, whether I shoot JPG or RAW+JPG, whether I chimp & reshoot, etc.
