have no idea what type of fungus this is, a mushroom I would guess


possibly Irish because of the green????

I see this trunk any time I go to the Topeka Zoological Park, today I noticed this fungus (growth)

any one have any idea what it is

(please don't say that it is caulk)

even those who might not be supporting "life" now or in the past, provide enjoyment

I have been told that this log was thrown out years ago by the elephants at the Topeka Zoological Park from their enclosure. The Zoo moved it and created the area where it is now. It makes for great seating and other activities for the kids during informative interactions with the keepers.

the Zoo also utilizes other "remains" for bedding, scratching posts, "enrichment" and even "seats" throughout the zoo.

a series of three, I have always liked these types of trees which have curling bark


what a difference your point of view makes. The first photo is clearly taken in an "artificial scene" with the metal work behind the trees


the other two are actually the same trees but I shifted position to present a more natural background and I could lie and say it was taken in a wilderness area
