I would say it is a common issue. There have been few threads about it on K-1 board. My 2nd K-1 started it few months ago. 1st one after picking up first heavy lens - 15-30.

Nothing will break but it causes few dents to user experience making the camera feel like plastic bucket.

Reviewing Pixel Shift image right after exposure and trying to delete it instantly results in camera freeze for quite a long time OR total deadlock requiring battery removal.

Activating pixel shift while sensor is fully shifted to any direction sometimes causes grid or scanline type pattern artifacts in the output file. Of course this is excepted as shift is already at maximum for some direction and cannot be moved any more. Still, it can be done and outcome is often messy.

The SD card door of my K-1 does the reverse - it has become "sticky" in a way it does not sling open smoothly anymore.

Sounds like hardware failure. Clicks are not registering correctly. I remember similar problem with Access Virus B Rack synthesizer ages ago where optoelectronic dials started to skip and produce random values in random direction when turning the dial to certain direction.

Actually Sony shows a cryptic message that "function x not available in mode y". But you missed the point. I wrote that from the point of usability evaluation which I do as part of my job.

Your GPS is not having a signal. But that is perfect example of bad usability. Instead of telling user what went wrong there is zero feedback.

Yes. Super high voltage lines. What exactly happened was that when camera asked to rotate the body the screen just froze.

I was taking a landscape shot near a nuclear power plant under the electric lines coming from the facility.

So...then I switched on the GPS and tried to calibrate compass just to see what would happen. Well, the camera hard crashed and required taking off the battery to continue shooting. I can repeat this.

That could be a setup option in the light settings.

If you start the camera first time after factory reset AND have no lens connected, custom button mapping will not work. All they do when pressing them are their default functionality. Happened so far two times, after initial purchase with FW 1.0 and after last service with 1.2.

That would have been so with Sony cameras.

Is the shutter count shown somewhere in EXIF-data? Now that I have taken quite a many multiexposures (about 100x frames per ME) the photo counter shows just photo counter. It was running at 1200 something while in reality it is more like 5000-6000.

Whoa. Yes. Except that K-1 shows the purple/magenta cast straight in-camera as well. The RAW preview image already appears corrupted and so is the file when opened in Adobe product / DCU.

Colors are so severely messed up that I found data to be usable with BW conversions only.

Yes I did cover the viewfinder with the plastic cover which came with the camera. But as it leaks light, I always cover the setup with black cloth.

And, sorry, ME = Multi Exposure, LE = Long Exposure

It says that in the image itself...but. 150 frame multiexposure in-camera using average blending. I have another 150 frame ME taken just after and it has no issues. I got loads of other magenta ridden examples as well.

DCU did not help. Here is a link to example of that magenta cast. Do not care about clarity, the image was inside a collection into which I pasted development settings in LR to see how they looked.

And before someone again yells I am trolling or something I have the freaking RAW file which I can provide to Pentax/Ricoh if they ask for it. It will not be shared in public.

Yes LR fails with PS it anything moves (no support for motion correction). But I shall try DCU with those RAWs. Multiexposure RAWs do not support PS BTW.

Has this happened to any of you?

I set interval shooting for 240 frames x 30sec RAW files and left camera to expose those. In a mistake I did not check the battery level (which was about 75% I guess) before initiating the sequence. Battery got depleted in the end of the sequence which resulted in loss of all images in the series. Recovery software (SanDisk one) could not find anything from the card. Shouldn't those images be written one by one?

---------- Post added 08-25-16 at 06:59 AM ----------

Another more or less common issue with in-camera multiexposure shooting (RAW) with average blending: Some output files have very high level of magenta in the image which LR is not able to remove with any setting available. This has happened few times with +100 frame ME stacks.
