I got this nifty camera kit from ebay.
French made Foca PF2B. The focus helical is in the body, so RF is only accurate for 50mm lenses.

I did contact the Takumarology site and he replied that he has not seen the lens with a black aperture ring. I sent him photos with permission to use them.

I don't trust catalog pictures. It lists the minimum aperture as f/22 which is not correct for the first model.
It also has a chrome aperture ring (like the Asahiflex model) while mine is black. What I am trying to find out is if the black ring is unique or the the listings are wrong or there was a model 1.5 |

Curiouser and curiouser. I was trying to do research on this variant of the
early M42 version of the 500mm f/5 Takumar - Model I. I couldn't find a photo
of any M42 Model I Takumars. Plenty of the Asahiflex 500 and tons of the
Pentax Model II. Even Oosten's picture of one appears to be a drawing of a
Pentax stuck on the Asahiflex lens. Has anyone here seen the lens or a photo of
one?

Here you go.
The hood was two-piece, Series VII filters fit between the two parts.
The 55/2.2 Atuo-Takumar was the lens sold with the S1. The SV standard lens was the 55/1.8 Super-Tak.

And in using it , I wonder how many shots were ruined by failing to close the shutter before winding to the film sheet.

No. 10 Ansco, Model A., around 1907, made 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch negatives on 122
roll film (next to a 120 spool for comparison). Had front Rise/Fall and Swing
capabilities. Interesting film option was Vidil Focusing Film, a roll film
with alternating parchment and film sheets. Wind the film until the parchment
sheet was in place, open the back and open the shutter. Focus and compose on
the parchment, then close the back and shutter. Wind the film into place, and
take the photo. A clever idea, but not a popular one, the film was only
marketed for 4 years.

Finally bagged an SB2 to complete my SB collection (I think there were only the two). SB and SB2, versions of the S2 and S3 sold only on military bases.

Yeah, and light-weight too. When I carry it on my shoulder, I find myself walking in circles.

Got this XM-Motor recently. Unfortunately it did not come with a battery
pack. After several months of looking for a pack, I gave up. I had been
thinking about getting a 3D printer and this seemed like a good project for
one. Turned out well.

The lens I got in 2004. The Black S was purchased as a parts/broken camera (it had no shutter curtains) in 2013. I replaced the curtains with curtains from a Pentax K from the same period (also a parts camera).
