Might be why I don't see many around in suburban gardens here. I spoke with someone once who had lived in both climates, and they rated us as a shade or so more temperate than Florida, especially in the drier months.

An unknown herb in flower in the front lawn - haven't been able to identify it yet. Ricoh WG-6;

I didn't know that - thank you :)!. These grow particularly well here, and the shows of white flowers often live up to their snow related common names eg "Snowflake". I'm fond of the Euphorbias and have tried several of the fleshier ones in pots here but they are prone to rot in the summer humidity, unless kept under the eaves, limiting their size.

Think that's what I know as Statice Paul, often used by florists here to fill our and add colour and form to a bouquet.

Flower of a Monkey Rope Vine, a native here that has a binding relationship with Blue Triangle butterflies. The butterflies it attracted were what drew my attention last summer, but the flowers had all blown by then. Ricoh WG-6;

Found in local lawns,, Ricoh Caplio GX100. The second seems related to your . As far as I can make out the genus is Medicago, common name Medics, but I can't get a fix on the species - I took the photos over a year ago and can't go back for another look. If so I think it is also related to alfalfa.

Wow!

What's the light blue flower in your third photo Normhead, if you can name it? - it looks particularly appealing

It was a kit lens for a late 50s Praktica rebadged as a Hexatar for export to the US. It's a pancake triplet thought to have been made in Munchen, but no one knows who by. I got it off Mighty Mike on the marketplace last year, and have been having a lot of fun with it in the Single In challenge this month;
