I'm really interested what K-1ii can do here. Based on current information 12800 should be pretty good in it and 25600 usable. Maybe even 51200. That would leave lot of room to keep aperture and shutter in optimum level.

Light is a huge difference between the 2 shots. Agree with Clackers. Exposure up, F and ISO down. Also to me it looks like the focus is in the audience.
Here is a recent shot I took in similar light conditions you have. I used f4, ISO3200 and 1/400. I would have liked to go 1 or 2 steps up with ISO, but the performance of K5 doesn't allow it. Now I lost some shots due to too slow exposure. K1 should have more freedom in this. I shot RAW and added NR in post. In this size the outcome is just on the level I view acceptable. I don't even expect great results in these conditions. |

Catch in focus is incredible tool for shooting sports with manual lenses. Just set camera to high burst, keep shutter release pressed and follow target with focus as well as you can. If there is enough light for focus to lock properly and you manage to keep focus point on moving target, even my old K-30 nail the focus in every shot. K-5 seem to struggle with moving targets even in good light. Newer bodies should work much better in low light, but I haven't have chance to test it.
