I have no experience with 300mm lenses. I usually shoot landscapes, portraits and music/concerts.... and 300mm is too long for that. However, I have wanted to learn wildlife photography for a long time and these lenses will give me a good start. I can always upgrade later if necessary.
Now I need to find a way to use the K 300 with a tripod. Has anyone tried the K300 with a monopod? It should be possible to mount the camera body to the monopod and support the lens with my left hand ?
Kind regards

Thanks for your help guys! I went to a local second-hand shop today and to my amazement they had the M 400mm F5.6 in good condition for $120 USD :D
I also pulled the trigger on the K 300 F4 that Ben_Edict linked to.
Two lenses for less than $400!......not bad.
Kind regards

Thanks guys. I am sorry to bother you with another question :)
I have the chance of getting the Tokina 100-300mm F4 SD ATX in EX+/LN- condition for less than $250 USD. Sounds like a reasonable deal ?? Any experiences?

Thanks. I will search for the M*/A* 300mm. Usually they sell for $500-600 USD but I guess it's possible to get them for less. The K 300 is a good option if I can't find the A*/M*.
Regarding off brands... I have heard good things about the Tokina AT-X 400mm F5.6 and Tamron 300mm F2.8 (60b and 360b).
Kind regards

I am looking for some advice regarding a 300-400mm lens. It's okay with manual focus and exposure. My budget is $400 USD.
Thanks
