First I would just like to say that I feel Pentax is the best value in the DSLR market from beginner to advanced / pro bodies. Also the ability to use new or legacy glass is a very good reason to buy Pentax. The 3 biggest complaints that I always hear are AF, Video and 3rd party support. IMO they need to improve AF and video to make it comparable to the competition if they want to have a chance to grow market share. Even though I could care less about video. Others have stated rightly that people are leaving the brand because of it. Also I think that 36 MP is good enough for right now. Maybe a better focusing screen for manual focus would be a nice add.
I think if Ricoh were to just get the AF and video close to the competition. It would help Ricoh to grow the Pentax brand. They already have more features than most of the competition for about 33% less. So improving these item would make it an obvious choice over the high priced competition. Doing so could possibly entice third party manufacturers to start supporting it again if Pentax can grow it's market share (Another reason people are leaving the brand).
