It’s not quite dead yet. What you have found is the code for the Indi/Ekos Pentax driver, it’s used for astrophotography.
Andas Salamon is maintaining the original pktriggercord, check his web page right here: https://pktriggercord.melda.info/
I have been in contact with Andras twice the last couple of years, doing some testing with my K-70 camera, I wanted to assist fixing a couple of bugs in the Indi driver.
You can find “DrawsACircle” mentioned in the source code :)
Nice to see a fellow Dane here :D

And a K-70 firmware fixing the remote shooting bugs/making it compatible with the KP/K1.

It seems as if Christmas comes early this year - I just tested it on my daughters laptop, it works perfectly, reading/setting the camera settings, live view etc.
It's so fantastic!!!!!
Makes my astrophotography sooo much easier :)
Then I just have to figure out why the MTP driver on my desktop pc is not working as intended, but that's a minor thing.
@Adam, put the K-70 on the list of cameras with USB support :)
I also tested it on my daughters K-S2, no connection.

My pc reports an issue with the MTP USB driver, could be the reason why my K-70 is unable to respond.
I've tried to fix the problem for a long time without success. Win10 should ask what to do when I connect the K-70, but it gives an error message saying it cannot connect to the camera.
I'm able to see the files in file explorer and copy them to the harddrive as usual.

I cannot get my K-70 to respond when connected via USB,
K-70 firmware version 1.11, PTP mode, Win10 64bit, PentaxWiFi beta 19.
kypfer, can I ask you to try again to confirm that the K-70 is capable of communicating via USB?
If it works, it would make my day! :D

Regarding USB support for the K-70, that’s only possible in MSC mode, I guess that makes it impossible to include K-70 USB support through the Ricoh SDK :(
I’ll have to stick to libgphoto2 to get some USB tethering on my K-70.

No reason to blame Pentax for what is a common issue when you buy electronics.
Buy a cable and be happy :)

Deal Adam, I’ll also get in touch with the gphoto2/pktriggercord guys to see if we can do some more reverse engineering on the K-70 USB control.

Just as a follow up on the K-70 USB capabilities, by using gphoto2 on my RaspberryPi3 I can read the K-70 settings. Furthermore, I've successfully set shutterspeed, ISO and aperture via USB on my K-70 (I've not tried other settings) :)
I won't hijack your thread again Adam ;)

I’m aware of the USB transfer.
The K-70 also reacts om commands sent to it, I can take a picture via USB by sending a command to the camera.

It’s strange, the K-70 is capable of some kind of communication via USB. I’ve sent an Ricoh e-mail asking for information about the K-70 USB communication capabilities, no answer.
It would make any K-70 Astrophotographers life easier.

Adam, have you stumbled across any information whether the camera will allow to have both a wifi and a USB connection? My K-70 disconnects the wifi once I connect it to the computer via USB.
Controlling the K-70 via the USB port is not supported (at least it's not documented, but some commands can be transmitted via USB), If it could use wifi for control and USB for download it would be great.

I’m most likely sitting under dark clear skies with my K-70 attached to an 8” Newtonian tonight. The self timer/interval shooting feature makes this very interesting, I’ll test if it works and then use it tonight 😊
