Forgive me , but is justification is needed to adopt Pentax ?
I prefer being otherwise , especially as for decades I considered myself other-stupid due to a brain glitch - derealisation/disassociation/dreamstate .
Cameras are an escape and comfort zone for me .
I like my K10D , but also a much maligned/denigrated for being basic , Sony A290 both of which have CCD sensors .
Perversely , the stripped out simplicity of the A290 seems to work for me .
I have the Sony A35 35 f1.8 for low light , but miss CCD colours and hate the EVF .
Recently , I upgraded to a Ks-1 / 35 f2.8 [ ex-dem £320] which is good , but for colours and low light , the Fuji X-Pro1/ 42mm [£330 ex-dem] is best for colours and low light .
For me , strictly considered sharpshooter , it's the camera which suits my need [ and a way to contain confusion ] with no concern for whatever others prefer .

Trey45.
The Delta 1 was a rebadged Zenit E from 1981.
Kievs are not my only Soviet cameras !
I guess that this subject is incorrect for this thread too ? Sorry.

I have about 15 Kiev cameras plus my film Minoltas .
With a mild autistic glitch , they are the most real to me .
I even have some Contax /Kiev hybrids built for me in Ukraine by ex-Arsenal ' Kiev ' techs -
Kontax II built from spares with Contax body parts and Kiev shutter etc.
Contax III with 1957 Kiev 4 top plate , controls and meter [ when Kiev 4 quality was at it's finest .
Rat Contax from a really rough example with black paint polished off and tan leather .
The other special is a Kiev III body with another Kiev 4 meter etc .
Probably a little excessive/obsessive !

It's crazy, due to a mildly autistic glitch and bewildering guy/girl/me ? stuff , - I tend to prefer twin cameras - things remain intangible , more than one seems to help reinforce ' input ' . This is fine with model buses , USSR Leica-likes etc , but digital cameras ??!!
I said it's crazy !!
Used Leica Digilux 3 & Panasonic L1 body with cheap 4/3rds Olympus lenses - colour+mono . I love the deranged finder style and handling , though the massive Leica f2.8 zoom is too unbalanced .
Sony A290 35mm f1.8 & A390 used £100 mint with a nostalgic Minolta 35-80 /52-120 , my favourite for architectural details / cars [ I don't do people except GrandDaughters ]
The handling seems familiar i.e. safe , from my Minolta AF days .
These remain a cameras which I am comfortable with .
I also have a Pentax K10D which seemed to blow out the completion at the time with a couple of FA lenses 'cos they cost little .
It does not integrate as well .
I then chanced on a Pentax K-S1 , zoom+35mm which seems instinctual , I love it - believe me , this is exceptional .
I am seriously considering a second blue body on close out , again , so covering 35mm and the 35-80 FA zoom from K10D days.
This is seriously unexpected , retirement , at near 70 having hit the possibility of more 'toys'.
This camera is such an advance with it's clear finder and screen with excellent IQ - even at f2.5 .

Mildly autistic , a confirmed snap shooter , with no aspirations to massive IQ and artistry , cameras creating a comfort zone , I have returned to the fold with a brand new , warranted , new Pentax K-1S with zoom and 35 f2.5 @ £220 , following a stint with Sony / Minolta to use my Minolta 35-80 , until becoming disenchanted with the EVfFof my Sony A35.
I am actually delighted that the stuff I like is not popular and gets kicked out into clear out/used . I also picked up a new Fuji X-Pro1 body for £168 and added a 27mm to make a £320 camera for my shoulder bag , I love it 'cos it's discrete and is the same size as my old Minolta SRTs .
But picking up the K-1S with it's crystal clear100% viewfinder - free of artefacts and clear screen , made me realise what I prefer .
Let them keep their Canons and Nikons , I have never been tempted after comparing the discontinued , reduced ,K10d [ Nikon D200 ? ] way back when .
I still like my stripped out Sony A290 , with a used , mint , £100 A390 for 'waist level' screen to use my 1990s Minolta 35-80 as , like my K10D , I like CCD sensors .
The K-1s is an amazing improvement on the Sony's , the balance with the 35mm is perfect , and I et to use my favourite zoom - a 1990s 35-80 creating my perfect 50-120 combination preferred with the Sony's .
