Lenstip doesn't confirm sharpening of RAWs in K-1 and K-1 II (nor in X-T3, EOS R, Z7). They detected some signs of possible RAW sharpening in A7 III, but they admit the premises aren't convincing enough, and if any sharpening takes place, its truly minimal. They also detected some sharpening in A7RIII's implementation of Pixel Shift (none in Pentax variant), but minimal as well.

To whom?
It's just one of many sites for button sniffers and specsheet-analyzers, full of clickbaity articles and rich dose of marketing for whoever tosses them the biggest bone.
Learn to stop worrying and love your K-1's, people.

DPR team send their regards again :P 2019 camera and lens manufacturers' New Year's resolutions: Digital Photography Review Quote: In the spirit of New Years' resolutions, we got together as a team and talked about what we'd like the major manufacturers to do next year. Things we want to see fixed, directions we'd like to see taken (plus some we'd like to see reversed...) and products we'd like to be released. Ricoh/Pentax
Pentax, we need to be careful what we say here...
We admire your loyal customer base, and we respect the way that many of them react to anything short of uncritically gushing praise for their favorite camera maker with... let's say... passion. But we're also terrified of them. |

I don't know what's odd in what I said (although English isn't my first language).
X-T3 brought significant improvement over X-T2 (took them 2 years).
A7III is a signifcant improvement over A7II (took 2 years).
That doesn't mean that those cameras are without issues.
However, is Pentax K-1 II a comparable improvement over K-1 (also after 2 years)?
I'm trying to get my K-1 upgraded, but parts are expected mid-January (I registered for it in September), and this situation, in addition to mixed opinions among Pentaxians, made me feel that this cash could be better spent on glass.

I liked those cozy and goofy 'best & worst of the year' videos they made during TCSTV times. Their latest take on it with DPR team feels rushed and lacks a lot of its former charm.
As for the K-1 II. This is more or less the same camera as K-1, with some welcome (AF) and debatable (NR, hand held PS) improvements that doesn't really impress people familiar with what all the other manufacturers are doing. So while I don't particularly like a Pentax camera on the 'worst of the year' list, I have the feeling that if Pentaxians could choose between this camera or one more FF lens released this year, most would choose the latter.
