A few months ago I picked up a like new Sigma Pantel 135mm lens. For those that might not be aware of this lens the Pantel goes from f/2.8 to f/22 like most lenses, but then it has an extra jump to f/64 from f/22.

I haven't had a lot of chances to shoot with this since I got it, but here's a few images from this past weekend at the San Antonio zoo. I love the image quality on this lens. Sharp and nice color renditions. and the Bokeh is outrageous.

I need to get used to manual focusing again. I just wish the K-1 had a split prism micro focuser screen.

When I said like new I meant it. original box, and paperwork from 1975. It looks like it just came off a camera store shelf.

My grandson. Love that bokeh

Thanks for the information. I do have a good tripod/ball head combo, plus I'll get a video monopod for those times I can't use the tripod.Your lasy note is why I went for this one. I also felt that the OS redundant on the K-1.

I was unaware of # 1. Do they also update the firmware in the lens at the same time? How can I tell if the lens already had the modification. How instantaneous is the scratch? Will I see it as soon as I put the lens on the camera, or is it more of a gradual thing?

Hi all,

I've got a 50-500 f/4-6.3 APO (NON OS) on it's way to me from Japan. I won an eBay auction on uit.. As I have a K-1 I didn't think I'd need the version with OS. What's the difference between the two aside from the optical stabilization and slighter larger aperture? Is the image quality the same? Will be be disappointed in this lens and wish I'd spent 3x the money for the 4.3 OS version?
