The SF10 is a great outdoors body, but yeah, the autofocus and adjustments are lacking.

And one of them that killed manual focus SLRs in general...

If the manual focus one is just as unreliable, why not get the auto-focus one? :p

Yeah, that makes sense, with aperture being a ratio. It's just that an 85mm doesn't seem that much longer than a 50mm, but it can have a significantly larger front element, even with a somewhat slower max aperture.

Odd, I thought the 50/1.2 had one of the largest pieces of front glass.

I wonder how the weight of that compares to my A-1 and metal-bodied chrome-nose FD 55/1.2 combo.

Seems like the recommended TLRs are all getting spendy...

Rolliflex, Rollicord, and Autocord.

I should save up and buy the Autocord at my local camera shop...

I'm also a fan of the A-1. But I've never tried an F-1 or new F-1.

Well I really like the Canon 55/1.2, enough that it's currently out to get a CLA, along with an A-1 body. Considering its relative lack of multi-coating, I haven't had much trouble with flare.

The Pentax has some optical issues... just my example, mind you. One of these days I'll get around to getting it looked at...

And I just acquired the MInolta... I haven't actually shot with it yet.

The problem I most commonly see with those is an inconsistent shutter. Like it will work for five actuations, then get stuck.

If by double, you mean the 4-pronged bayonet and screw mount, then yes.

Yeah, the fact that some of the auctions have a reserve does seem rather unethical.

Okay...(I got it that way)

The Konica makes me rather sad, due to its finicky, and inaccurate meter. It might work better with the mercury batteries...but realistically, it's straight SR44s, or down-volted SR43s.

For that reason, and because I like Av metering better than shutter-priority, I favor the ME and the Minolta over the Konica.

Let's compare the ME with M 40/1.8 to the Konica and Minolta equivalents:

Sorry about the awful flash lighting

Shopgoodwill is like eBay, with no buyer protection, worse pictures, but a somewhat better chance of getting a good deal.

Well, except for Rolleiflexes and Rolleicords...those are always expensive.

Hmm, I should take such a picture when I get home.

Yeah, the small size of the ME makes medium/large lenses seem out of place.

The ME just looks right with the M 40mm lens.
