Yesterday again with the SMC-PENTAX 400mm f5.6 lens on the old K-r .
Poor little Red Eared slider has a Hook through its nostril and sticking out its mouth !
It cant eat properly since it cant close its mouth to do so.
Ive been trying to catch it so I can remove the hook !
Getting real close...….Soon I hope......:fedup::o:eek:

Wow ! Thanks for the detailed reply. Ive been looking hard at this lens for a while and its now on the "list" !
The K-r is a passing fancy , but I do have a K-1 and two KP's to play with so no problem there......Thanks !:D

SMC-K 400mm f5.6 lens
From this morning at Lake View Park by my house.
This lens is slow going and I only got one shot at this guy !
F5.6 and I slightly missed focus.
Used the PP sliders in windows, and cropped about 50%
I still like it a little....:D

Thanks ! These big tele 4 and 5 element lenses are super easy to work on. My skills aren't that great , but through necessity I had to go slow and learn.

Decided to fix my SMC-K 400mm 5.6 lens I got for $25 bucks at the Flea Market.
Internal round baffle was loose in the barrel so I removed it , drilled new holes in it, and put it at the rear of the lens right in front of the mount.
Then a near complete disassembly and cleaning of the middle element that had mildew on it , and a good going over of both the front elements.
Rear mount was missing 4 of the 5 screws so borrowed a couple from a Rikenon P 28mm lens.....Perfect.
Threw my home made tripod mount from the 300mm Takumar on it and it fits.
First couple shots look good....to me anyway.:D
K-r and SOOC Jpgs.
