Well thank you, I think you are right indeed. I'll think about it. Maybe I'll choose the 35mm/2.4 -it is inexpensive and from what you all say, quite good. Apart from that I'll just keep shooting and improving myself.

As I have already said - I would like a sharper image, brighter lense and better depth of field.
And thanks for responding, I will look the last on up see how it looks like.

Thanks for the response.
Do you think that the 35 is a good choice then? I'm not convinced about it because of what it is made of, but maybe that is not so important?

I just hope to get better image quality. Brighter lense would allow me to shoot with less light. Also the depth of field. With the f 3.5 (the widest on my lense) the sweet spot is somewhere around 6-7. That can't always give me the blur I want to get.

Thanks for the response by the way :P

Thanks for the response !

I mostly use fl between 24-50mm , sometimes I also use 18 or so to capture landscapes or architecture.
I have also heard that buying a prime lense is very developing - you have to be more inventive to have a good composition. Is that true?

Hello everybody,

I am still a begginer in the world of photography and I would like to ask you for some help in terms of choosing my first lens.

I own a Pentax K-50 with a standard kit lens (18-55mm) but that is not quite enough for me anymore.

I like photographing basicly everything and so I wouldn't really like to limit myself (a zoom would be the best) to a specific genre of photography, but if i had to choose a prime lens I would probably prefer something more universal like 20-40mm rather than 70mm or so.

My budget is not very big either so please keep that in mind.

I have already found two lenses but I'm not really sure about any of them:
amazon.com : Tamron SP AF 17-50MM F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Lens for PENTAX Digital - International Version (No Warranty) : Digital Slr Camera Lenses : Camera & Photo?tag=pentaxforums-20&

SMC Pentax-DA 35mm F2.4 AL Reviews - DA Prime Lenses - Pentax Lens Reviews & Lens Database

As for the Tauron I just do not know if it is worth it to buy another lens with similar focal length to the ones that the kit has.
The second, from what I've heard is made entirely of plastic and so I am not so sure about it either.

I would really appreciate any help :)
Thanks in advance
