But then people are going to complain that's the new camera is "too big" and too "dslr-like" because the flange distance didn't get any smaller. "DumpPentax Review" would review it poorly, claim it doesn't stack up to the Nikon ZX, Canon K-whatever, Sony A150 Mk∞ because it's too "big" and that none of its positives can make up for it.

I hope not.... I'm just waiting for this DFA 50 because I hope that it will start a sell off of Sigma EX 50s. I plan on buying the 11-18 along with the Sigma...

Because assuming everything will be bad and the competition's older equipment will always be better is easier than waiting for the results to see whether or not it actually is worse or better.

I know I am. I know I will make enough money by the end of the summer (working for the state and all that good wage...) to afford either the DFA 150-450 (would like to replace my good-enough-but-would-want-better older Bigma) or the DFA 50 1.4 (replace a DA50 1.8 and SMC-A 50 1.4 or instead replace those with a Sigma EX 50 1.4) or the DA* 11-18 (replace Tamron 10-24) + some lesser lens (sigma EX 50 1.4) to replace something. So I know I've got a tough choice ahead of me.

I've had mine for like a year now! Awesome lens. So fast I can see individual bosons as they interact with Higgs field. So sharp I can resolve the Crab Nebula.

I'm just sitting here waiting to hear the price so I can decide between the DA* 11-18, this 50 1.4 or used 150-450. I have a SMC A 50 1.4, a 10-24 and a Bigma so I'm in not too too much of a rush to replace the 50 or the 10-24 but I'd like an AF 50 with weather sealing, a faster UWA (with weather sealing and made by Pentax) and a better ultra telephoto. And since I'm projecting I'd only be able to afford one of them this year...

Well if you want to take over the entire engineering projects of designing your own extremely high quality Pentax lenses, I'm sure that the very highly trained and skilled Pentax engineers would be thrilled to have some time off. :D

Remember, engineering projects take time. You can't just snap your fingers and suddenly a computer generates a completed engineering and design project. Doesn't work like that. Design, revision, more revision, prototyping, testing, more revision, more testing, etc. takes a lot of time. As we've seen in the cases of some cameras and lenses, many years. If you don't want to wait for what Pentax has in the bag, there's plenty of other companies out there. I'm mostly content to waut.
