I love the Motels! They hit it big here in Australia and then made up ground internationally, I think.
Another female-fronted band that made a huge impact here was Sandii and the Sunsetz. I have three of their CDs.

Fair call, I had heard of them in the Seventies, concerts on radio, but the first released LP was probably 1980.
I travelled around a lot so I bought cassettes, found a IM cassette in a supermarket in Reefton NZ about 1984, locals told me nobody was ever interested in such wild music. Another piece of "wild music" i found unexpectedly was in a throwout box at a newsagent in Alice Springs - The Pogues. ---------- Post added 03-11-21 at 04:17 AM ----------
Youtube introduced me to Babymetal last week. And a year ago I found Strawberry Parfait, Japanese teenage girls playing Ventures music, even using a Mosrite guitar.

I just scrolled thru that list - no Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, ELP Deep Purple, AC/DC, so you can guess what I was listening to then. Blondie but no Abba or Motels, or Heart.
I grew up in Oz, so I saw quite a few extremely talented Aussie bands that had limited international exposure and would never be likely to make this list: Captain Matchbox Whoopie Band, Masters Apprentices, Chain, Daddy Cool, The Bakery. You can find them all on youtube these days, but not in US or UK record shops in the 1970s.

Rock Mass for Love - Perth 1971. Authorized service by the Anglican Archbishop and "performed" in the Anglican cathedral.
I wasn't quite in the crowd, I listened to a live radio broadcast. Perth band named Bakery, a few of their other singles are on youtube. You Tube |

Baby Metal, but probably this will lose its appeal after a couple of days.

Listening to Bow Wow Wow, Where's my Snake is tonight's track, I am searching YouTube for a live performance video with decent sound quality, not the clip from movie Scandalous.
Apparently Annabelle is still touring, but never in my country.
