if you go down to 400 I have 4 options.
Vivitar Mc 400/5.6 main fault is 22 foot minimum focus
Sigma APO70-200F2.8EX plus sigma 2x TC - stellar performer
SMC300/4 and 1.7x AF TC good perfromer light, but a little CA
tamron 200-500/5.6 my new toy not yet enough experience with it, BUT 6 foot MFD is impressive

true, but since I have 2 other credible 500mm options presently, this is only a pipe dream any way

A totally useless pledge since the only lens I am considering at this point is the 560F5.6:D
