Sorry, did not mean to make it a competition...

This is it right here! This is what got me off the GAS - everything I get new, will usually be better than what was there before, yet there is still something out there even better.

I gave up!

TY!

I must say I am a bit out of practice... been shooting the kids and family on Aperture priority MF and AF when available.

Need to get back on the horse. I aing heavily on my E-M1 as the main body. I dislike the 4:3 size-sensor, rather have regular crop, but the camera is a dream (for my taste).

I had posted long ago about getting a 21mm lens for it, gotta search back my posts and DMs. I just got $200 voucher from my old co-workers for B&H, as I changed offices (no longer in the Bronx, now in Queens, 30 mins closer to home). I will likely use that voucher for a 21mm m43 lens.

I was able to harvest over 50 of these from a single plant in my backyard (Carolina Reapers).

Ready to harvest (Rokor 58/1.4)

Green, months before harvest (K 100/4 Macro)

So far I've made two great hot sauces with my harvest.

The first, I used 6 reapers for a product of 6-5oz bottles (think 1 pepper per bottle)... lime and grapefruit squeezed, apple cider vinegar, NYS Honey (Wildflower), red onion, garlic cloves, green-bell pepper, carrot, and passion fruit frozen concentrate. PH 3.5

For the second, because the idiot in me believed that the first one did not produce enough heat, was done basically the same way, but rather than 6 Carolina Reapers, I used 11 Reapers for a 6-5oz bottle batch. Other changes to the recipe were, rather than the green-bell peper, I used two sweet peppers from my garden, and rather than paasion fruit frozen concentrate I used 6 fresh strawberries. PH here was a bit harder to bring down, had to settle for PH 4-to-4.5

I believe that because of the fresh strawberries the second sauce is thicker. Oh, and it is fierce! Love it in soups and meats. The first recipe is more popular and goes well on anything (rice, sandwich, salads...)

Ohh well, just figure I give an update of my whereabouts, been a long time.

uhhh, glad I caught this little glimpse of time then. I want to see what you do with it, I'll check your Flckr album.

At the months' end, I'd love to hear an honest review and keeper or selling

Ivan, lovely to see your garden images again this year!!!

Sweet use of a 400mm lens... clever, lovely

---------- Post added 07-16-23 at 07:43 PM ----------

I'll never sell my copy, and the system I have to use for it.

I got the lens for about $80 but the AF does not work. Also It is Canon EF mount... BUT, It does not work properly with newwer Cannon Bodies... I had to research the crap out of it to find the last Body Cannon made that did not upgrade their EF mounts. It turned out to be the Canon D60, a lovely dinosaur that I now shoot solely for the purpose to use that Sigma 105/2.8 Macro EX...

Cheers Paul, lovely to see your shots - cool sepia use for this one.

Wide Open after the rain (K-50 which is seeing its last days after almost 9 years of service - purchased new 8/8/2014 for $515 with the 18-55 kit lens). It is not the aperture block failure, that I "fixed" 3 years ago and has held up... Now it just shuts off on its own, happening more often...

M.Zuiko 60/2.8 Macro? If so, yes, quite the lens for cheap. Great for video too FYI - I did a video of a caterpillar last year with it, very pretty.

Lovely depth without stacking... Never tried f22 + flash on a macro level... the light is also diffracted nicely, not absorved/reflected by the subject. Cool shot.

I always shoot RAW, but had changed settings to take a quick photo of a newspaper article for work purposes into JPG. I forgot to change it back so these two are shot JPG with some off-camera PP

More Mamiya Sekor 55/1.8

First two either wide open or stopped once (f2)

These ones - cool silly study of how angles can affect a subject photographed...

First one is easier on the eye I believe... but the second one is not "wrong", just does not fit well....

On an M42 phase... another lens I really really digged a few years back, and haven't seem much light as of yet.

Mamiya Sekor 55/1.8

It can really render. Sharp is not the best description... That control tower in the background below the bridge is LGA, about 3 miles / 5 km away.

what a beauty! I think an 85mm is the only lens missing in my repertoire of regular lenses (note I am not counting the 31/43/77 as those are odd FLs).

Nice, bringing the 55/2 back, or was the old one a Takumar?

---------- Post added 01-26-23 at 09:33 AM ----------

I've eyed a few washers readily available in the big box hardware place. I've seen copper, metal, and some kind of rubber... I will bring the lens whenever I shop for the washer - I'm thinking that a rubber one might be best as it won't be permanent.

Still dwelling about the M42 pin and the mod needed - this Fujicon lacks screws in the back plate... so again, I need to further research.
