Thanks Jonathan.
This lens was almost casted to the back end of the shelf. BUT the E-M1 rescued it! One of the first times I see the camera body making a difference for a lens (I used to shoot this lens with the PEN E-PM1).
It is a good lens, nice in M43 for a street shooter.

I have the A and the K versions of the 100/4 Macro... Never worked with the 100/2.8 = If I had this Sigma in PK mount, I'd sell both of those in a heart beat.

Beautiful = love this lens!!! Mine is for EOS, I can only use it on an old 6.3MP body, but it still shines!

No denying that the sensor is a bit outdated... This is the cons of shooting auto, I'm still learning the camera; I'd like to limit the ISO to 800 at most (minimum ISO is 200, so not a good start).

Thank you. It surprised me to say the least. Didn't expect a "usable" bokeh from this lens. Quite happy with the results.

Amazing! I saw this shot and without thinking about your caption it reminded me of Sam's Point (By the Ice Caves)... Wow sure enough!!!
PS - I do not know if you're a local there or not, but I strongly recommend a visit to Rough Cut Breweing Co. on Rt 44 = amazing food and very nice brews. Great folks.

I just saw your webpage. While I've never been north of the border for a summer vacation, I'll keep this in mind if we ever decide to head up there in warm weather; my wife has a cousin in Toronto who we've been meaning to visit.

Scans look good. can I ask what aperture and speed do you run the Sigma? Hand-held?

Great series Norm... A bit nostalgic for me as the summer slips away as I was unable to get out much with the fam. We usually go at least one weekend to cabins/lodges by lakes in Upstate NY... Not this year (albeit we went to Ithaca, and the Berkshires where family resides - not the same "outdoor" feel though).

Sigma EX 105/2.8 - handheld 3 shot stack
This one was handheld as well but a single much more easier shot (the little critter from above was inside that tulip) |
