An RME HDSPe AIO sound-card... Used. (recently replaced by a newer model but still selling worldwide )

Could never have justified purchasing one new.. ($900.00 US)

So was a little (read LOT!) surprised to visit our local electronics recycler and find one in the "Big-Box-of-Cards" ripped from old desktops.
Sign said...All Cards $5.00 Untested. (that's $3.58 US :D)

Paid the man and back home installed it and tested...works fine :D

Now for another (free!) boost in performance (especially once you have the extra ram installed) install the zram package.. it really does work well for these older pc's.

They look in wonderful condition and the price was right :)

My ES is ex a local journalist for a major daily and is brassed all over but still in fine working order.... one of my most treasured for it's history..

Came with a 50/1.4 8 element which is why I bought it... though the ES has grown on me and I do like to hold it for the sheer weight and the way it just fits hands so well and imagine...
Sometimes imagined shots are as good as real...:-)

Give that man a medal.:)
Not only was he working on the information available to him but was acting in your best interests by not leaving you a wet parcel !!

Our mailperson would have done the same but for the good relationship we have formed by being appreciative of their desire to do well.

We regularly leave home-preserves and thank-you tipples in our rural box. We leave our updated contact numbers and have arrived at a 'horn-toot code' to advise when a parcel is left.

We treat our mailperson as a decent human and valued community member. They reciprocate by going the extra distance to ensure our parcels are delivered in a timely manner and when raining they walk to our designated safe spot on the porch and leave our parcels.

As we have now both shared phone numbers we can co-ordinate deliveries where the item may be of high value or need special care.
This smooths and speeds their day and makes us both feel we have a working relationship rather than an antagonistic don't care anonymous clash.

Cheers,
Bob

An Olympus E-420/14-42mm ED for $7.00 (US equivalent) Clean, no dust/fungus and minimal signs of use.
Shutter count 8360. https://olegkikin.com/shutterlife/oly_e420.htm
https://www.apotelyt.com/photo-camera/olympus-ft-shutter-count

Shop could not test as there was no charger included so selling as-is. Challenge accepted !

Despite having a box-full of thrift shop chargers (more than 25 :D) none would accept the E-420 battery.

Although...I do have a weird charger that charges anything !! ;-)
https://www.electronicworld.co.nz/shop/power-charger-adaptors/camera-charger...1000380_3.html
https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/cameras/camera-accessories/hahnel-unipal-plus...l-charger.html

It needs some magic-foo set-up but will do most battery types and both 3.7v and 7.4 Li-ion. My go-to rescue when I buy cameras without chargers.:)

Found a spare 1GB XD card and a 2GB CF-Flash (E-420 uses either/both) and once charged it performs as expected.

Ordered the custom USB cable and it arrives tomorrow so I will update camera and lens Firmware.

Light and small... just right for smaller-handed family members :D
Found an adapter to convert Pentax lenses to use with it....(Yes...There is a Pentax connection to my post :-)

Well used Manfrotto #075 tripod with #136 head.
US $30 for the both. :)

The tripod is all present and correct....the head was missing the arm and hex adaptor ..... 20 minutes in the workshop and now all good.

Too big for a trek but going to be great in the studio !....

Now I have to go buy a ladder...

My K200D's being doing that since new and 8 years later still takes great shots...:) I took it back to the shop after I first unpacked it and said it was obviously broken. They put me right and the forums confirmed it. :)

You said the photos you took with it were ok so it seems either it's 'normal' or is strangely broken with the exact same symptoms that a working K7 has.....odd eh..

All the best in your search for a working one.

There are many threads on the forum about the normal movement and noises... here are a couple...
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/115-pentax-k-5/158040-clunk-noise.html
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/115-pentax-k-5/200991-another-clunk-noise...5-vs-k20d.html

search will find lots more.

If the photos were good then pretty sure that all is ok and your perceived "fault' is a "feature"... :)
