Thank you dear Rob
No I did n't focus adjust the 150-450, I had no problems before the failure.
I think that my lens was more sharp and had more contrast before the service. Just to give you an idea, a bee eater picture is attached, taken before the failure-service. I am trying to understand if a professional aligment of the lens will fix the problem or I just have to forget it and get another copy.

Hello to all
I ve been watching your wonderful photos and discussion since some moths
I have a four years old 150-450. About a year ago I dropped it from car window and the lens mount detached from the body of the lens. It took some months for parts to come from Japan and finally the lens was fixed almost as new by a local photo service here in Greece. All this time I used the 300mm f4* on my K1 MkII and KP with some astonishing results.
Now I use both lenses and I have the feeling that the 150-450 is not as sharp as the 300. I attach two pictures taken with the 150-450 and 300 with almost identical conditions and the same subject. I notice that the 150-450 image is more blurry and there is a strange halo around the shape of the bird. My question is: is it OK and just the 300 result is better because of the deeper DOF or is it some kind of problem that the 150-450 acquired at the initial fall from the car (maybe the optical elements need alignment?)
Thank you in advance and I promise some more photos from me soon.

Thank you
That's very helping. Just wanted to know if it is a general problem but it seems that I have to improve my technique. I believe that the 150-450 plus the teleconverter need steady hands or tripod
Thanks

Hello from Greece. I use k3 + pentax telephoto 150-450. I am very pleased with this combination and use it mainly for birding. Attached some photos. I would like to ask if you experience lose of sharpness when you use the x1,4 pentax converter with the 150-450 lens. At the extreme end (630mm) I have problems with sharpness (so my cropped photos without the 1,4 x teleconverter usually are better!). Any trick to overcome this? (PS the attached photos were made WITHOUT the teleconverter)
