It isn't just that.
A neck strap not actually around a neck is just a device for snagging on things and yanking the camera out of your hand and sending it crashing to the ground.
No strap at all is preferable to a neck strap if the user isn't religious about keeping it around his neck. Wrapping it around the wrist is false security, unless wrapped around so many times or in such a way that losing your grip on the camera doesn't result in a drop....which I have my doubts about.

Neck straps not around necks are accidents waiting to happen. I don't think I ever even took the straps that came my K20D or K-5 out of the boxes.

When I looked at your member profile it said you had been banned. Must be a software glitch. I even reloaded and tried it once more and got the same result.
I still get it (Tapatalk) and just took a screen capture of it.

Yeah! Canon and Nikon users are stoopid and their pikchers suck!
(Expecting our Beginner's Corner and photo critique sections to be eliminated as superfluous now. The purchasing of a Pentax indicates photographic knowledge and skill).

And all this time I thought I had a Pentax because I went to the store and paid for it. Now I learn that having one is a personal accomplishment to be proud of.....

He was getting his photographic Cliff Notes so he could fake his way through a required report, no doubt.

A friend who is both a good photographer and a computer sciences PhD candidate....thus savvy on both the end results and the nuts-n-bolts aspects....recently switched from Canon to a K-5.
He claims I sold him on it, but I never made any sort of pitch.

I only very rarely spot another Pentax shooter around here. So today while shooting an event at an old folks home I was sort of pleased to note that of the three SLR cameras present all three were Pentax.
Okay....so I brought two of them. But technically I had passed one off to someone else on extended loan so it wasn't really mine at the moment. I had my K-5, my K100D was out on loan, and one of the staff had a K-r....red on black, no less.
