I don't know "well-kept" I would call it; I had to do some small bit of cleaning up. Those fallen leaves weren't from this year. Offering up incense is just a Buddhist thing. Sending up well-wishes/prayers/whatever on the smoke, I suppose. Smells nice, too.
There was no way I was going to make a special trip to visit the grave of Takuma Kajiwara and not shoot it with a Takumar.

For those who have missed it in the General Talk section, some cemetery photos of special interest to Pentax users: the Kajiwara family tomb at Tama Reien in Tokyo, containing (among others) the remains of Kumao Kajiwara (first president of Asahi Optical) and his brother Takuma, for whom the Takumar series of lenses were named: |

Wow! And I thought some of the Buddhist statuary I encounter here was weird.....Thousand-armed Kannon statues can't compete with Jesus with his heart ripped out. |

Those shots make me think about the stories of the men pinning to their uniforms pieces of paper with their names and hometowns written on them prior to marching into the wholesale slaughter that battles tended to be during the War of Northern Aggression. Apparently not everybody did it or it didn't always work. |

Especially as he may not even be in that grave. My understanding is that there is some dispute regarding whether he is interred there or at another location.
Can't believe I never noticed this thread until today. Probably because I do almost all my photo posting in the Takumar Club thread and seldom have time to properly wander through the rest of the forum as I should.
