Agreed on all points expect the Optio...have one but much preferred the Canon Powershot I used at the time. The menu system in the Canaon was far far easier to use....in my humble opinion of course. :)

Nah...having K-3 in the title is the only thing that originally got me interested! And yes Racer, I would buy another one. :D

Oh I know it is possible later, but it would be so nice if I could do it " as it happens"

Why only relevant to jpeg shooters? In the field when I am switch out old lenses, the Raw file would be updated with the lens info I would set from my info or menu screen. It would work very well with that camera interface I wished for before where you could configure settings on your camera from your computer.

Another for the wish list...EXIF lens labeling for old lenses. i.e. Load lens profiles to your camera that you can select when using an old lens so the image contains the lens information (Cosina, 55mm, etc).

I am agreeing with you Merv. I almost never use video....I was just being sarcastic. :)
Every here and there I have used video on my DSLR but I am not a videographer. If I was, I'd be buying some specialty equipment. For all I need it for, the built in video on the K-7 and the K-3 and served me well enough.

Yeah but if my camera had a cool 4k label on it I could finally hang with all my CNS (big three camera companies) buddies.

I think that is the crux of the matter; grabbing on to new technology at some point and embracing it. There will always be something better and more expensive. For me, my K-7 was still shooting great pictures. I mean if you pixel peep then yes, at higher ISO values the image is more grainy that the newer cameras. Would that stop me from submitting one of the K-7 shots to a contest or printing it to be framed? Nope. That said, a great deal came along on a K-3ii and I really wanted to jump on board with a newer sensor. Done! So now I have a much better sensor that my K-7 for a really good price. For me, that was a win-win. One day, when my K-3ii is far outpaced my technology, well then it will time for me to make decisions again. Would I take a K-1 if someone threw it at me? Of course I would. :-) But for now, I am a happy hack behind a viewfinder.
All that said, I am still very pumped to see the list of stuff on the next APS-C flagship... :)

Well, I thought the discussion when jumped in was about the K-P and why I would not buy one...it's not worth a sensor to buy that camera. |

I guess my point is that I'll stick with my K-3ii for now :)

Not be be nasty, but to me that is more of a concession than a work-around. I would never want to compromise and work in JPEG...but that is just me.

Here's a question for the K-P aficionados out there (because I don't know). Is the body construction as robust as the K-3? Is the shutter life up there with the K-3 or is it of K-200 ilk? Just curious.

So many good ideas here but the addition I would be happiest about would be the latest and greatest sensor technology....just sayin'
I think something really revolutionary would be an interface to an app on your computer...to allow more programmable options in the camera. just think, this coupled with a touch screen would allow you to select icon on the screen setting your camera to a myriad of presets you designed yourself....no, I am not on painkillers. :) yes, the user presets on the dial is a start but....
