I got this lens because I needed a wide angle; this was good; and it was cheap. It's the same as all the other Samyang based lenses. I know of no significant differences between them. All the differences are cosmetic (and not very great even cosmetically). This was the cheapest one I could find at the time. I think it's a great lens as long as you don't mind manual focus and a bit of barrel distortion. I haven't really used other lenses at this focal length, so I can't say too much about them. The main strengths of this lens seem to be speed, sharpness throughout the field of view (at least on APS-C), and resistance to flare and color aberrations. For architecture you might rather have a lens that lacks distortion even if it's not as flare resistant.

Bower 14mm f/2.8
Quick upload. Might have adjusted the exposure, but that's all.

The lenses are all the same. I don't really have a good explanation for the price variations. I just look for what I can get for the least money. I have never seen one of the new generation of Samyang lenses (the lenses released starting with the 85mm f/1.4) for Pentax which did not have an 'A' setting, so them all having it should be a safe assumption.
