It's always good when the new owners value the legacy! It's kind of a mix here, although in recent years it seems like preservation has become more of a priority. Quite a few of the older buildings were in good enough condition to renovate, and some of them (one of the old theaters, in particular) were fortunate that a lot of the old detail work had just been covered up instead of being torn out.

I hope they keep the sign, nice to have the history. The building looks pretty similar to the hardware store I used to frequent before they tore it down for new development a couple years ago (sadly, I neglected to take a picture before it was demolished).
