Well, if it's going away, it's pretty surely got to be moisture of some kind. Probably the best way to deal with it would be to put the camera, without lens and body cap, in a box with some dessicant (or like a bag of Minute Rice made of some permeable cloth.) I wonder if it could possibly have gotten into the pentamirror, if it's been taking so long to clear.

That seems.. strange. Where did you blow, onto the focusing screen? (or did you try forcing air through the eyepiece or something, would be all else I could think you tried. )
I'm having trouble imagining what your breath could have done... Whatever you do, don't touch the mirror or the screen. One suggestion is to try and clean the eyepiece thoroughly: it might possibly have not been your breath at all, but just some skin oils smeared on the eyepiece: that can look pretty foggy if incompletely-cleared off.
