Taken with Super-Macro-Takumar 50mm f4, K200D: Tomato bloom and rattlesnake green bean bloom. Vegetable plant blooms can be pretty too, right?

I haven't posted in a while, so here is a contribution. The recent rainy weather has brought out mushrooms. Here is a cluster in my front yard, then a closeup of an impatiens (touch-me-not) flower. (Taken with Pentax K5, K55mm f1.8 lens @ f2.0 or 2.8, ISO 80.)

Hello,

I tried my K55 f1.8 along with a Vivitar 2x-22 teleconverter for 110mm to see how it worked, and am happy with the results. The lighting is not good with overcast, but there are some signs of spring. Taken with K200D, ISO800, f2.8 (x2 = f5.6).

The dogwoods are now in bloom in the Ozarks - pretty spring weather this year! Probably shot at f1.8 or f2.0.

It was nice to see this honey bee working on the grape hyacinth one afternoon in my back yard.

I had a K-50 that was given to me, and it had some intermittent problems with the aperture control. Unfortunately it completely failed and could not be fixed due to other cascading failures. So I picked up a K-30 to replace it, and it is excellent! I prefer the K-30 body style to the K-50 -- it just feels right in my hands.

Here is a photo I took with it today, and one of my Christmas presents - an FA24-90mm f3.5-4.5 lens, a most excellent lens!

Taken with K-50. I was considering selling this 28mm lens, but after taking some test shots for the sale, I think I'll keep it as a member of my K-50 kit!

My daughter had a K-50 with a sometimes-troublesome aperture block, so she gave it to me. She uses a K-3 now, and has a K200D for backup. I was testing the K-50, so I put an old Pentax-A 50mm f2 on it as a body cap, and was testing it (no problems so far), shooting in B/W .jpg, and found that the -A50/2 is not so bad! This bokeh is busy, but interesting - shot wide open at f2.0.

I have not used my Super-Takumar 35mm f3.5 in a long time, so I put on on the K5 this afternoon and snapped a few in the back yard. It does bokeh better than I remembered it would... Both are shot with it wide open at f3.5, ISO125, and cropped. This is a really sharp lens!

Dying Daffodil

Here is something I've never tried before - selective hand-coloration of a monochrome image. I've seen these many times (even in film days), but for some reason this dying daffodil needed bo be in B&W, but still needed some color to help it stand out. Thoughts?

I got this really tiny Carl Zeiss Jena 58mm f2 "T" lens several years ago, and have not done much with it. It was attached to an excellent condition Praktica (original version) body, which still works perfectly. I decided to take a few shots to check out the lens, and it is interesting. This might make a nice portrait lens due to it's perfectly round aperture (I think 18 blades), and interesting aberrations and vignetting wide open. Here is a wide-open bokeh test taken with it mounted on my K5.

There was not much color in the original, so it begged for a monochrome conversion...
