So our choice of camera format depends entirely on noise performance???
For me anyways, the answer is no!
Price also matters, no?
Don't forget, E-M5 uses Sony sensors. So whatever advantage the m4/3 sensor has gained now, when Sony starting using the same technology for their APS-C sensor, the expected gap of 2/3 stop advantage would be restored.
Using your reasoning, I can also argue that m4/3 is a pointless format. Since I don't save any money in buying the E-M5, why not go for APS-C at the same price and get that 1/2 stop advantage! As I don't want to pay 2x the price to get 1 stop advantage of FF.
