I found this old veteran a few days ago, used hard and battered but functioning. all I've done so far is clean the battery contacts. It needs seals but that's easy to handle.

Any good auto parts retailer should have an assortment of O rings to choose from in a wide range of sizes..

I found this waiting in the thrift shop last Monday. It's in very good shape, 100% functional.
I started out collecting 35mm Minoltas but the Pentax gear is catching up lately.:ugh:

I found this K1000 with lens in a thrift store for 10 bucks, with fungus in the rear group, Further digging found an identical lens with fungus in the front group, and I paid 5 bucks for that one. The lens I put together from both isn't spotless but it's functional. The meter wire had been dissolved by a leaky battery so I spliced in a short length using Permatex defroster grid repair compound. The meter is accurate and the shutter speed seems close, it takes nice pictures. I installed new light seals. I haven't had a chance to use it much but it's ready to go..
