Given the original Japanese name for the company, spelt リコー or rikou in romaji, the basic pronunciation would be ri-caw .... ugh, trying to explain this is hard lol... the i would be like from igloo, and the ou is from orange but slightly prolonged.

My two batteries the came with my K-3 have a date 201307.. also says PRIC... just means the manufacturing plant in China hasn't received the memo..
Hell, the battery charger still stays HOYA CORPORATION with a manu-date of 2012-09 :P
