While in Palm Springs for a conference for work, I managed to head down to the Salton Sea (interesting place: California's largest lake, saltier than the Pacific Ocean, 235 ft. below sea level). This was taken from the NE shore of the lake, looking west as the sun set behind the mountains over a calm lake. xpost to K-1 pics thread.

Near sunset along Last Dollar Road, between Ouray and Telluride, CO. This was a very difficult shot to blend, ended up using 5 different exposures (4 for dynamic range, 1 more for focus stack). xpost to K1 thread.

I did. Maybe a touch sharper than f/11 at 100% if you squint - but I prefer the little bit of added DOF that f/11 gives for most comps. For absolute top IQ (with my copy), I'd shoot at f/8 and just focus stack however many images I needed to in order to get everything tack sharp (2 would usually do it, occasionally 3 depending on the composition). But f/11 allows me to pull off lots of images without focus stacking, and without sacrificing much IQ.

I think that's right on. My copy, at least, has a good bit of field curvature (not quite as bad as the Da 15 on K-3, but not a lot better). In practice, this means that I can't move focus that much off infinity stop before the edges of the background start to get a little muddy - so if I want to avoid that I find myself focus stacking more than I would with a lens with lesser field curvature. But given the size, weight, and overall rendering offered by the Fa 20, those are small sacrifices to make IMO.

f/11 is the ticket for me. It's a touch sharper at f/8 (distinguishable if you zoom into 100%, but not by much), but DOF better at f/11. I find that aperture the best compromise between the two. On my copy, f/16 suffers a bit due to distraction.
