Haven't looked at this thread in a few days - lots of great stuff as usual.
Great shots - especially the otter and jaguar.
beautiful scene - scottish highlands are on my short list of places to travel - now just need my kids to be a few years older :)
I think I slightly prefer the color version, though wouldn't complain about either :). Something about wet hair...
kind of a sci-fi vibe to these shots with the spherical shape of the gondola cars and the toning - I like it
turned out quite nicely - always nice to have a lengthy editing job come together as envisioned!

Lower Blue Lake, Mount Sneffels Wilderness, San Juan Range, CO, August 2017. IMGP1798-Edit by Brandon Verdoorn, on Flickr
This is a telephoto shot from a ridge several hundred feet above this aqua lake a few miles north of Telluride. This was a bright afternoon and the sun created a vibrant scene and reflection of the clouds in the lake's waters.

Posted a version of this a few days ago but wasn't happy with it. Have cleaned it up quite a bit.

Very true, much of landscape photography is being in the right place at the right time. I heard a professional landscaper say once that the most important piece of gear to a landscape photographer is an alarm clock. I tend to agree (though of course that doesn't apply to sunsets). There is definitely a good deal of luck involved, but as they say, luck favors the prepared. On this trip, we planned our route and camps with photography in mind. I'd scouted this location the prior evening, so even though the light surprised me when I turned around at this particular moment, it was not entirely unplanned. Regardless, it was awesome to be there, with or without a camera.
Thank you - though I can't take any credit for that :)

Another from my Wind River Range backpacking series from last summer. This was taken a little while after the previous photo I posted. I was shooting south over Deep Lake, when I turned around and found this scene behind me. The afternoon had been dominated by thunder and hail, and the clouds began to clear just in time to allow the sky to explode with color. IMGP6658-6662 blend by Brandon Verdoorn, on Flickr

This is striking. I really like a couple of the more tight, intimate portrait shots you've posted lately. The style suits you.
