See what you mean bmonki. View cameras have special graduated filters to eliminate this problem. Couldn't you photograph a white target, then in editing reverse the black and white, and add it as an adjustment layer?
Like the SX-70! Have one of those somewhere.

I was all excited when peaking came out on the K-01 . Then I used it and found it often just confused things. I usually focused better without it. I have great closeup vision and usually mf even af lenses.
The peaking on the Q seems more subtle. The K-01 appears busier and more colorful. The lcd screens may be part of the difference. The K-01 has a higher rez lcd so it seems easier to focus manually. The Q screen is less rez, and harder to see in bright light. So it needs the FP more. Don't know.

Love the look of your images bmonki. The Sonnetar has a very nice rendering to it. You must be very happy that Pentax added focus peaking and SR shake reduction to the Q.
You also shoot the K-01. Do you find peaking different to use on it vs the Q? I seem to get along better with the Q version but I have no idea why.
Wish there was a wideangle Sonnetar!

As popular as the Q system is now do you think there will be new focal length Sonnetars? Q owners would buy a fast wide. Focus peaking and SR should make Sonnetars even more desireable. Hope the designer hasn't lost interest in the Q system.
