All that is needed is a telecompressor to reduce focal length and add speed.

Impressive images eMH! Especially from a lens from the 80's. This should allow wildlife images that are almost impossible to capture any other way.

Looks very good. The mirror avoids the color fringing plaguing many older teles, including my Pentax 400 f5.6.
Will keep my eye out for one of these.

Neat lens entry GUB. Can't be easy to shoot with on a Q. You achieved better results than I expected. Good job.
Curious how this lens performs on the K1 uncropped? Would you rate it decent or better?
Thanks,
barondla

Doesn't look bad at all wide open. There is glow but I have seen worse. Definitely useable wide open. Especially with editing.

Looks very good Cipher. Love to see one of the wide open glowy examples, if it isn't too much trouble.

What an amazing looking lens! Wow. Nice and sharp images. Wonder if it is even wider than the Pentax Q fisheye? The focal length would seem to suggest it.

Thank you kwb for taking on the important job of keeping the adapted lens table updated. Your donation of skill and time allows this important resource to grow.

Don't worry about dead links. They add a little historical character.

Thanks for helping out,

Amazing modification for the Q! Never expected to see the Q with a turret full of lenses. It is like a glass bouquet. Rendition, you have multipled the Q fun factor by 3. Bet everyone gives this a double take when you are out shooting. Love it.

Great find and mod, rendition. Never dreamed they made such long lenses in that mount. Cool. You are pushing the Q fun factor to the max.

The Q maybe too thick to focus with this lens.Try holding the lens up (without camera) and use a bit of white paper at the back. Move paper to gain focus. Good luck.
Have fun.

Crewl1, the wireless remote is tough to remember. Mine lives in the pouch with the Pentax RD10 reddot sight. It has one of those elasic lens cap leashes on it, that wraps around the reddot. I just pull it off the reddot when it is needed. Works for me so far. Now if I could just remember to turn off the reddot!

Thanks

Pentax Q, Olympus OM Zuiko 180 f2.8 at f5.6. OM adapter is felt flocked internally.

Not as good as the OM 180 f2 lens ( more PF), but still respectable.

Nice start and setup. Add a red dot sight and your narrow fov aiming woes will be history. Couldn't live without mine. Love the Pentax RD10 and X-tenda sight adapter.

Transit, it depends on what range you are trying to shoot in and choice of subject. For extreme photography, the Pentax DA*300 is hard to beat. For less money the Pentax DA 55-300 is a knock out. It is even hand holdable for some.

Many, like older, 135mm lenses in the f2.8-3.5 range. The Pentax 135 f3.5 is small and inexpensive used. Others use 90-100 macro lenses ( all seem good ). These give a nice "500mm" range.

A 50mm lens is a very small, and bright short telephoto. This does enter the range of Q specific lenses. The 06 zooms to 45mm with AF.

Q users also adapt C mount or Pentax 110 lenses. These lenses can be normal or even wideangle. The Fujian 35mm is very inexpensive for a new C mount lens.

Get some adapters and hook your Q up.
thanks
