Cool find. Image quality is nice. Tempting, but the few times I need circular images, will just use the other Fuji on the Olympus m4/3.

It wouldn't be very useful on the Q, but look at the new mother of all fisheye lenses. 270°! Make sure to follow the link to the blog. They show assembling every lens element. Roger said instead of a lens cap, it has a lens helmet. Love it.

Don't know. Is there a real CS adapter? Seem to remember people having trouble finding a CS adapter that wasn't really a C, when it arrived. Also rear of the lens might bang into the sensor shield. Think Kayakfari has a different fisheye that does that.

Neat idea! I used brass shim sheets to build a spacer. Will have to try the o ring.

SUCCESS!

Cipher, Abbazz thanks for your help. Used all your tricks to get that chrome ring off. Dropped penetrating oil into the adapter. Placed lens into the freezer for 1.5 hours. Removed lens and while still frozen blasted the chrome adapter with a heat gun I use for shrink wrap. Quickly wrapped adapter in electrical tape and used a special round jaw vice lock to remove. Held lens in other hand.

Already have brass shim material to adjust focus. The Olympus m4/3 C mount is on the way from China. Time to have fun.

Thanks again,
barondla

Anybody figure out a lens cap for the front of this lens? Need a way to carry it in the bag.
Thanks,

Couldn't resist ordering the Fuji. It just arrived. Removed it easily from the housing, but there is a problem. Can't get the chrome adapter ring to unscrew. Using full hand strength and it won't budge.

Hate to contact seller about something so dumb. Considered wrapping the chrome ring in something and using hand tools to remove. But that might scratch up the chrome ring, which I don't care about. However, if I have to return it the seller might object.

Any ideas?

Creative kayak photos! Haven't ever seen that view of a kayak. Terrific concept and execution.

Cipher, thanks for this comparison. Fuji looks super and has a much wider view. Obviously it loses to the 03 on compactness.

A few questions:

1. With no adjustable aperture, is it possible to shoot outside on a sunny day?
2. Is it difficult to remove the lens from the security camera?
3. Have you tried the lens on a M4/3?

I have a 03 but this lens is tempting. Wider & low light on the Q are big bonuses. The 2 second long shutter speed can be very limiting at f5.6. Being able to use this on my Olympus m4/3, as a circular fisheye, is great. Lens seems like a no brainer for me.

Love the guitar wall!
