Well a K-1s in 2018 with some updates and a new version in 2020, so you better start living with K-1 and be happy.

It looks like there isn't that much production for the time being as long as Sony doesn't have it's sensor factory up and running full speed at the end of august. So they stay 2 months behind for some time to come.

The K-S1 was way overpriced at start and missed some key futures. It was short on things that make Pentax stand out from other brands (like not wheatersealed) and had these led light. Smart from them not to order to much, since they have to take the risk for selling.
The K-1 is in stock in their store, so they do believe in their products they want to sell.

Well transferrate with Pentax camera's in the past with USB 2 was very slow. If I recall correct it was around 75 Mbit/s. Maybe the K-1 is different, but maybe not and then transferring a raw image takes 4 seconds. That is after processing and storing in the camera, so you are closing in to 8 seconds after taking a picture to see it on screen. Tony isn't having all that time these days.
